We are currently looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Manager who always puts the customer first and who would be ready to start by March 2019
POSITION OF MANAGER
A brand new project recently completed in July 2018 - Orkneys first Hotel in Kirkwall for eighty years is a converted Pork and Herring Curing Station originally built approx 1872 situated in the centre of Kirkwall just off the main shopping street. A unique building renovated to the highest standard with bespoke interior, owned and designed by Judith Glue and David Spence. Who also own well established business "Judith Glue and The Real Food Cafe" in Kirkwall and the "Judith Glue Shop" in Inverness.
They are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Manager who will manage the overall running of the Hotel, Restaurant and Bar who will work closely with the Restaurant Supervisor and Head Chef and liase with themselves on a daily basis to meet targets and customer expectations. The food is informal fine dining and the accomodation is luxury but very welcoming and friendly. There is lots of opportunity for the right applicant to benefit by continually growing the turnover by adding events and functions, as the main restaurant and private dining room offers a full capacity of 80 covers and the building is licenced to hold up to 180.
The owners would encourage their Manager to actively bring to the table any fresh ideas that would enhance and increase the business.
The opportunities are endless as this is a new business with owners who are very open to new ideas on establishing and creating a unique venue in Kirkwall.
Only applicants with previous hospitality management experience will be considered for this post.
A Salary of 27k plus is available to the right candidate plus a yearly performance bonus based on meeting yearly targets combined with trading profit margins
Hours 35-45hrs weekly and you must be flexible as you would be required to do some evening and weekend work

Eight luxury rooms on top two floors all en suite with access to restaurant and bar and seperate secure nightime entrance. There is a housekeeping team in place which is run by a seperate local business that clean all the rooms and the common areas on a daily basis.
Covers .Lunch 20-30 Dinner: 20-60 depending on season, Breakfast up to 16. Functions and Events up to 80 covers. Casio Epos System is in place

We are looking for a Manager who puts the customer first , they must have previous hospitality experience and should be able to start in March 2019 although we are willing to wait longer in order to find the right candidate. You would be required to work closely with the owners meeting yearly targets combined with trading profit to take this recently opened business forward to the future. You would be in charge of the overall running of the business working closely with the Head Chef, Restaurant Supervisor and Housekeeping Team . You will be working together with the owners to ensure that existing Health and Safety, Fire Safety Policy and HCAP procedures are met and be expected to have a clear understanding of Room Booking and Epos systems. You will be encouraged to bring new and fresh ideas to the table that will increase turnover and enhance the business. You will be required to do banking and weekly taking figures sheets and run a front of house team doing weekly rotas.
The business is privately owned by friendly owners who want the right person in place to develop the business together for the long term.
This is a very exciting position and a chance for the right candidate to really make their mark on the business.
Orkney is a beautiful rural Island location which is very family friendly with good schools and lots of activities available . It is easily accessible either from the mainland by ferry from Aberdeen, Scrabster near Thurso or Gills Bay or by regular daily flights on a daily basis.
The anticipated starting date be around March 2019 but could be earlier or later through negotation and depending if you are the right candidate for the job.
